Douglas DeWayne Scott, also known as, “Doug.” Dougie”, or “Big Man,” was born on November 1, 1956, in Lockhart, Texas, his parents, Elaine Rowlette-Hall and Fred D. Scott. He was the fourth child born to his mother. Douglas was raised surrounded by his brother, Onzie; and sisters, Debbie, and Victoria. His siblings remember Doug as a child having playful ways and creativity in humoring himself and others. He was always laughing and smiling. Doug was a happy, gentle giant.
Doug received his formal education from Denver Public Schools, as his attended East High School then enlisted in the United States Army, where he was trained in explosive demolition.
