Whetstone-Douglas C. Stansbury, 71 of Whetstone died Friday, June 19, 2020 in Tucson. Douglas, son of Dorinne L. (Stout) Shaw and the late Edward O. Stansbury was born in Oakland, California on May 22, 1949. Douglas was raised and educated in Bay Area, California.
He served his country during the Vietnam War with the United States Army and attained the rank of Sergeant. He worked as a pilot at Hawaii Air Ambulance and for 11 years with EKS of Sierra Vista as a Surveillance Role Player.
Douglas has resided in Sierra Vista for the past 14 years. He enjoyed flying, working as a machinist, computer programing, playing guitar, and wood working.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife Lisa E. (Wentland) Stansbury; a daughter, Sarah E. Stansbury; a son, Michael Stansbury; two sisters, Sue Hopper (Bill) and Colleen Stansbury; two grandchildren, Vanessa and Van; along with nieces and nephews.
