Webster – Douglas Craig VanGee, 70 entered eternity on Thursday, April 4, 2013 at the Hildebrandt Hospice Center in Greece, NY after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Family and friends may call Sunday (April 7) from 6 to 9 p.m.

Doug was born the son of Charles Lee and Esther (Jensen) VanGee in Brockport on Saturday, September 12, 1942. Doug was a loving father who cared deeply for his family and friends. He graduated from Spencerport High School at the age of 16 and then took courses at RIT. Doug was a loving father who cared deeply for his family and friends. His sense of humor and warm personality created many close friends and business associates over the years. Throughout his life Doug maintained an enthusiastic interest in auto and other motor sport racing and touched many different groups of people along the way. He enjoyed road trips with friends and family and thoughtful conversations about life and many other topics. He had a great love of animals of all kinds and took care of many pets and helped his daughter Christine take care of a few horses as well. Doug faced life’s challenges head on and demonstrated that planning and hard work will overcome almost any problem.

Doug will be remembered by his children Christine Norfleet of Brockport, Matthew (Kristin) & Adam (Cheryl) VanGee both of Webster; the mother of his children & life time friend Ellen (McDonald) VanGee of Webster; grandchildren Olivia, Jacob, Jack, Kevin, twins Grace and Carter, Stella; mother Esther (Jensen) VanGee of Newark; sisters Judy (Richard) Smith of Medina and Rebecca (Norman) Waterman of Newark; brother Richard VanGee of Newark; many nieces, nephews & many, many friends.

Doug was predeceased by his father Charles VanGee in 1984 & sister Beverly in 1949.
