SALEM – Douglas B. Fortner, age 68, died at 1:09 a.m. Saturday, April 28, 2018 at the Salem Regional Medical Center. He was born June 12, 1949 in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania, the son of Gordon and Dorothy (Seawright) Fortner.
He was previously employed as plant superintendant at McDaniel Ceramics for 26 years.
Survivors include his wife, Kimberly (Murphy) Fortner, whom he married June 11, 2010; a sister, Judith Fortner of Naples, FL; mother-in-law, Shirley Murphy; brother-in-laws, Ralph (Linda) Murphy, Jeff Murphy and Brian Murphy and special friends Dan (Joyce) Henderson, who thought of Doug like a dad.
Besides his parents, he was also preceded in death by a sister, Donna Akins and a brother, Tom Fortner.
