Mr. Anderson, age 67 of Simmesport, passed away on Wednesday, March 16, 2022 at his home.
Doug was born to Paul Douglas “Jack” and Violet “Neatsie” Barr Anderson on September 7, 1954. Upon graduating high school, Doug owned and operated a trucking business hauling asphalt and gravel.
He was trooper of the year twice and hence received the Attorney General Award. Among favorite civic organizations, he was on the Drug Control and Violent Crime Board, a member of Avoyelles Council on Aging and a member of Rotary Club.
He is survived his wife of 49 years, Rene’ Brouillette Anderson; his daughter, Pauline A. Daigre (Brian); his son, Douglas A. Anderson, Jr. (Carrie); grandchildren Jaxon, Zachary, and Emily; and step-grandchildren Walker, Lola and West. He is also survived by his brother, Don Anderson (Adele), two nieces and one nephew and many cousins and friends.
