Those left to honor Douglas’s memory are his duaghter, Laura Illingworth of Raleigh, NC; granddogs, Brutus and Alexis of Raleigh; dughter, Bridget (Daren) Illingworth-Williams of Gun Barrel City, Texas; granddaughters, Kristin, Ka’Leigh and Erin Jean Wallace; father, Frank of Marshalltown; sister, Shirely VanGenderen; brothers, Denny Illingworth and Tom (Diane) Illingworth, all of Newton; and many other nieces and nephews in Newton.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Betty, and his grandparents and great-grandparents.
Douglas graduated from Newton Senior HIgh School in 1964.
He was employed by CarQuest/General Parts Inc.
