Dottie D. Lonergan, 83, of Jacksonville, IL died Sunday, April 19, 2009 at her residence.

She was born May 11, 1925 in Jacksonville, the daughter of Elmer and Elizabeth Coyle Imboden. She married Wilbur Wayne Lonergan on January 13, 1946 in Jacksonville and he survives.

She is also survived by six children, Robert Wayne Lonergan (wife, Carole) of Cornelia, GA, Clark Alan Lonergan (companion, Susan Barfield) of Jacksonville, Bonita Joan Sheppard of Franklin, John Edward Lonergan (wife, Laura) of Jacksonville, Mary Louise Marsh (husband, Glen) of Jacksonville, and Michael Paul Lonergan (wife, Amy) of Jacksonville; 15 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; three sisters, Imogene McDannald, Marge Corder, and Ruth Ronat, all of Jacksonville; and 8 nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three grandchildren; and a sister, Rebecca Imboden.

Mrs. Lonergan was a graduate of Jacksonville High School and employed over 30 years at the Woolworth’s store in Jacksonville. She was a member of Central Christian Church and enjoyed genealogy, quilting, reading, and exploring flea markets.
