Along with her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Harriet Pukrop, Marie Janik, and Margaret Skora; by five brothers, Joseph, Stanley, Chester, Julius and Dr. Larry Jurek; and a son-in-law, James Bell.
Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Christine Bell of Anderson, Indiana; her two sons, Arthur (Julie) Zielinski and Thomas (Joan) Zielinski, both of Granger; by seven grandchildren, Greg Zielinski, Pamela Stinchcomb, Jeffrey Zielinski, Thomas Zielinski, Jr., Mark Zielinski, Angela Kaleskas and Eric Bell; and eight great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister-in-law, June Zielinski; and a brother-in-law, Bert Zielinski, as well as, many nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Zielinski retired from Wyman’s in 1983, after 15 years of service in the Accounts Payable Department. She was also employed by the University of Notre Dame for 11 years in the Laundry Office. She was a parishioner of St. Stanislaus B.M. Catholic Church, South Bend, where she was in the Apostleship of Prayer, the Confraternity of the Holy Rosary, Harvest House and the choir, where she was involved for many years. Dorothy was also a member of Hoosier Grandma’s, the Polish Roman Catholic Union of America and the St. Joseph Regional Medical Center Auxiliary, where she served for 20 years.
She thoroughly enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and always put church and family first in her life. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Richard Wein and the entire staff of Shamrock Gardens for their support and care of Dorothy.
