Dorothy Ree Traylor was born November 14, 1931 in Choctaw County, Alabama to the late Sollie Johnson and Donnie Brookins.
Realizing that one can not live alone, she later joined Mt. Mariah Baptist Church and served faithfully as President of the Choir. She was a member of the Eastern Star, Brookins Chapter #166. Mrs. Traylor as many referred to her work in the Choctaw County School System until she retired in 1993. She was known to her grandchildren and great grandchildren as “Meme” and “Grandma Sugar”.
In 1946, Dorothy Ree Traylor united in marriage to the late Madison (Matt) Traylor and unto this union five children were born. A son preceded her in death.
The eternal life of Dorothy Ree Traylor expired on June 1, 2015 at her home in Lisman, Alabama.
She leaves to mourn her and cherish her memories two daughters: Mamie (Leonard) Osborne, Columbus, OH, and Janey Hampton, Lawrenceville, GA; two sons: William (Patricia) Traylor, Cinicinnati, OH and Lonnie Traylor, Lisman, AL A lifetime Son Isaac (Shirley) Johnson. Three sisters, two preceded her in death, Irene Hardy and Alice Yates. Edith Andrews, Mobile, AL Ten grandchildren: Larry William Traylor, Jennifer (Derick) Fluker, Kimberly (Jonathan) Lowe, Leonard Osborne, Jr., Tyrone Traylor, Marisa Traylor, Darryl Hampton, Rodney Hampton, Conchela Hampton, Lifetime Granddaughter Victoria Harbin and Twenty-one great grandchildren, a devoted friend Glady Chess, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.
