Dorothy J. (Small) Sundermeyer, 95 of Centralia, passed away Friday, December 5, 2014 at Odin Health Care Center.Dorothy was born April 24, 1919 in Willisville, daughter of Alonzo Small and Elizabeth (Adams) Small. She married William Louis “Bill” Sundermeyer on April 22, 1939 and he preceded her in death by July 17, 2010.
She is survived by a son, William P. Sundermeyer and wife Pamela Margulies of Bexley, Ohio; two daughters: Nancy Merrell and husband Scott of Hoffman and Wanda Lee Christensen of Centralia; grandchildren: William Joseph Sundermeyer and wife Roxanne, Elizabeth Ann (Sundermeyer) Van Hooten and husband Jason, Jacob Andrew Sundermeyer and wife Kristen, Meredith Margulies, Dianna Wood, Dena Dahl, David Stock and wife Susie, Rob Jackson, and Jason Herzing and wife Anita; 18 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 5 brothers: Victor, George, Ephrim, Robert and Paul, two sisters: Grace and Elizabeth and a son-in-law: Christen Christensen. She worked at Vasels Jewelry from 1948 to 1975. She was the past State President of the Illinois Pink Ladies, the past President for the Centralia Ceneca Club and a member of the First United Methodist Church in Centralia. She loved spending time with her family and friends.
