Dorothy Rogers Porter, a longtime civic and cultural leader, and wife of the late Sixth Avenue Baptist Church pastor Rev. Dr. John T. Porter, died on June 1. A native of Dallas County, Alabama, she was 77 years old.
Mrs. Porter is survived by her children – Mia Porter, Robert Porter, and Christian Awobade; grandchildren, Malcolm Williams, Tiphanee, Maya, and Symone Porter; sisters, Lee Etta Harris, Hattie Rogers, Carolyn R. Jenkins, Kathryn R. Parker; and a host of other relatives and friends.
