On November 7, 2006, Dorothy Perkins Linthicum Warner passed away peacefully at her home in Linthicum. Devoted wife of 52 years to the late Rev. Paul F. Warner; Beloved mother of Paul Linthicum Warner and his wife Sandy, David Milton Warner and his wife Penny, John Gardner Warner and his late wife Cathy and Mary Ellen (Warner) Harned and her husband Rick; Loving sister-in-law of Paul Wildman and Vernie Linthicum; Cherished grandmother of 12 and great-grandmother of 15. She is predeceased by her parents, Seth Sr. and Mary Linthicum and her siblings, Laura E. Wildman, Seth H. Linthicum Jr. and Dr. C. Milton Linthicum. Dorothy was born at Turkey Hill (the family homestead) in Linthicum Heights, Maryland. She was a partner with her husband in his ministry and missionary work which led them to Nagoya, Japan – among other places. She lived in Japan a total of 12 years and made many life-long friends. She had also resided in Uniontown, Baltimore, Hagerstown and Bethesda, all of which are located in Maryland. Dorothy attended the Girls’ Latin School in Baltimore and graduated in 1930. She went on to complete two years of education at Goucher College. Dorothy was a member of the Linthicum Heights UMC and a life member of the Hospice of the Chesapeake Auxiliary. She also belonged to the Women’s Club of Linthicum; AARP – Linthicum Chapter; Washington-Tokyo Club; Yuasa Society and the Japan International Christian University Foundation. She was very active in volunteer work throughout her life. She volunteered through her church – whether it was helping to prepare church suppers,assisting with the Strawberry Festival or many other activities. She also volunteered for Meals on Wheels; driving cancer patients for the American Cancer Society and cooking for the homeless. From the ages of 90 to 93 she served as a volunteer reader at the Belle Grove Elementary School. Dorothy enjoyed traveling, reading, cross-stitching, swimming and entertaining.
