Hey, If you can’t beat them, bluff them. Sometimes you win and sometimes you learn. My favorite chip trick is to make everyone’s chips disappear. Dorothy P. Armstrong (nee Stiteler) knew when to “hold ‘em” and when to “fold ‘em”. The secret was knowing what to throw away and what to keep. Dorothy kept her faith, her kindness and held on to her family and friends. It cost nothing and meant everything. After 95 years, In the early evening of Saturday October 31, 2020 she was dealt aces and eights and passed away peacefully at home surrounded by the love of her family in Haddon Twp.
Dorothy was born in Camden and had been a longtime Haddon Twp. resident. During her early years she had worked at Clover in Westmont and had been a longtime, dedicated congregant worshipping at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Oaklyn. Luck be a lady and Dorothy tried hers at Texas hold ‘em, pinochle, bridge and of course the casinos. She will fondly be remembered as a loving and kind soul with many friends and a large spot in her heart for cats and babies.
Mrs. Armstrong is the widow of her late husband Robert, R. Armstrong, Jr. She is the mother of Robert & Lisa, William & his wife Cheryl and her daughter-in-law Trudy Calzaretta. She is the proud grandmother of; Melissa, the late Robert & his wife Dana, Shannon Kelly, Leia Ruoff and great grandmother of Courtney, Kayleigh, Tyler, Parker and Reagan. Dorothy was predeceased by her late sister Katherine Stiles.
