Dorothy N Conklin Hood, of Franklinton, NC, loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother went to be with her Lord and Savior on April 10, 2023 at the age of 83. She was born on January 23, 1940 in Port Jervis, New York, to the late Foster and Cordelia Conklin.
She is survived by her children Mike Hood and wife Kim of Nashville, TN, Brian Hood and wife Jennifer of Franklinton, NC, Mary Goode and husband Jason of Fayetteville, NC; grandchildren Justin Foster, Jordan Foster (Chelsea), Foster Hood, Dana Hood Mills (Dylan), Rebecca Hood, Rylee Foster, Kaylee Foster; great-grandchildren, Kayzyn Hood, Kyzlie Hood, and Liam Mills. Forever loved by her siblings Jerry Conklin, Lucille Millspaugh, Karon Johnson, sister- n-law, Cartha Conklin; and many nieces and nephews. She had one niece that was like a daughter to her, Dee Martin. She loved and adored Dee for all the success in her life.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband of 46 years, Charles Hood; son, James Foster; and siblings Ray Conklin, Carl Conklin, Robert Conklin, Eugene Conklin, and Helene Hayes.
She loved kids; they were her passion.
Dorothy never complained about life as she was walking through this earth. She would always say, “God’s Got This,” to everyone she met. She made no bones about who her Lord and Savior was and was not afraid to share or show her great love she had for people. Her favorite verse is Isaiah 40:31 But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.
