Homegoing Services for Mrs. Dorothy Nell Davis, 72, of Decatur, Alabama will be noon Wednesday June 15, 2022 at Westside M.B.
On June 19, 1949 Dorothy Nell Kelly was born to Noah Kelly and Roberta Pryor Kelly of Bell Mina, Alabama. She was the baby of nine siblings. On June 8, 2022 while in the Decatur Rehabilitation Center, she made her transition to her heavenly home.

Mother Dorothy confessed hope in Christ at an early age and was a faithful member of Westside M.B. Church. Later in life she transferred her membership to EL Shaddai Church under Bishop John Gray where she was a Mother of the Church.

Mother Dorothy attended Westlawn Elementary School and Lakeside High School. She worked at Conagra Poultry in Athens, Alabama until she retired. After retiring she spent numerous hours with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, countless god children, cooking, and enjoying family time.

Mrs. Dorothy Davis, affectionally called “Mother Dorothy” was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband of 19 years, Mr. Willie Davis; four brothers James, Jessie, Walter, and Johnny Kelly; five sisters Sallie McCoy, Helen Kelly, Mary Helen Orr, May Attress Jones, Arvella Staton Kelly; four  half brothers,  the Reverend J.D. Smith, George Jackson (Susie), Tom Grisby, Kenneth Moore (Martha); two half sisters, Jonnie Mae Pointer, Inez Moore; and adopted daughter Velma Ash (Phillip).

She leaves to cherish her memory: daughters Ms. Jacqueline Griffin, and Mrs. Kimsella Leach (Anthony); sons, Minister Keith Williams (Patricia), Darrell Davis, and Master Charles Moore Davis; goddaughters, Mrs. Benita Owens (Dwight), Ms. Amy White, Ms. Alberta Swoopes, and Ms. Faye Powers; two sisters, Shirley Moore, Ashville, AL: sister/niece, Mrs. Margaret Langford; brothers, Mr. Richard Moore (Kay) Fort Payne, AL, Mr. Felony Moore (Brenda) Attalla, AL, Mr. Dallas Moore (Brenda), Decatur, AL; 25 grandchildren, 53 great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, and a plethora of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
