Dorothy Young, age 94, passed away on Sat, March 12th at The Atrium at Navesink Harbor, Red Bank. One of Dorothy’s first jobs was as a professional ice skater. She was a dictator of taste, especially regarding Christmas décor, and how to style a Ralph Lauren sweater. As she downsized to the Atrium, she gave her decorations to her family to live on with. Dorothy loved to be out and about with family and friends going to NYC for Broadway plays, seeing the Rockefeller Christmas tree, shopping, going to restaurants, traveling, and working on her tan. She lived every day for her family and only wanted her family to be happy and healthy. She was a loving wife, a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and a good friend. She will be deeply missed.
Dorothy was predeceased by her parents, John and Helen Nieman, and by her beloved husband, Harry of 52 years. She is survived by her sons: Hal, and Bill (Kim), and her daughter, Michele (Joe), She was a wonderful Nana and Mom Mom to her grandchildren; Kevin, Kelly (Tim), Jesse (Jacqueline), Scott (Lauren), Danielle (Ryan), and Tom (Elizabeth); great-grandchildren: Gabriella, Giuliana, Milena, Liam and Aiden; her sister-in-law, Eileen; and nieces and nephews.
