Another member of the “greatest generation” has been summoned with trumpets to the gates of heaven to join hands with her brothers and sisters of her time. A time when all hope was at its lowest, but emerged from the darkness with a will that has not nor since been matched. In the middle of this great circle stands our LORD JESUS CHRIST. She is now part of this circle giving praise and thanks for the blessings our LORD had bestowed upon the greatest generation ever.

Dorothy McLendon Stone, grew up in simpler times with humble roots that she never forgot or let loose of. Her father was a family man that was self made. He taught himself the skills of a veterinarian. He not only treated sick live stock, but treated the ill and helped with the less fortunate. This gave roots to her to become a nurses’ aid while working full time at rough riders in California. She continued on with these skills through out her life.

She was a woman that cherished her family, but would not compromise her integrity or character. She was a woman that would tell you it is better to have loved and lost, then not to have loved at all. She was a woman that would give it to you straight up, and offer a helping hand when needed. She was a woman of strong will and the first to give you praise when well deserved. She was a woman with strong convictions and the first to build up your confidence when needed. She was a woman that knew her limitations and not scared to tell you that. But most important, she was a woman that gave UNCONDITIONAL LOVE. She was all these things and more, wife, mother, grandmother and a TEACHER of life.
