Dorothy Mae (Pennington) Wilson, 89, of Bloomington passed away Monday, July 19, 2021 at Hearthstone Health Campus.
She was born on August 31, 1931, in Lawrence County, IN; to Arthur C. and Mary Mae (George) Pennington
She graduated from Smithville High School where she was a Skiboo Cheerleader. She is also a graduate from in Indiana Business College. She worked for the City of Bloomington Parks & Recreation Department for 22 years as the Administrative Assistant. She moved to Texas with her husband Bill and worked at Walmart in Customer Service. They returned to Bloomington where she worked at Ellis Tents and Events as an Event Coordinator.
Dorothy spent countless hours with her grandchildren and great grandchildren attending sporting events, working concession duty and cooking meals.
Dorothy was a member of South Union Christian Church and American Legion Burton Woolery Post #18.
Survivors include husband, Bill R. Wilson two sons, and their spouses, Robert and Carol Stancombe, Brian and Beth Stancombe.
Step-sons, Jeff, Greg and Rick Wilson. Six grandchildren, Jennifer (Chris) Rendortff, Andrew (Kim) Stancombe, Kim (Toby) Gohn, Kyle (Iesha) Stancombe, Aaron (Anna) Stancombe, and Ben (Jordan) Stancombe. Three step-grandchildren, Joseph, Jefferson and Kyle Wilson. Thirteen Great Grandchildren: Luke and Sam Rendtorff, Bryce, Brynn and Drew Stancombe and their mother Gina Barrow, Kayla Stewart, Kaitlyn Scrivner, Karah Gohn, Jackson Gohn, Mikey and Mia Stancombe, Ruby Stancombe, Lydia and Luca Stancombe. One great great-grandchild, Cash Scrivner.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Robert and Gene Pennington one sister, Helen Risk one son, Billy M. Stancombe and one grandson, Michael Stancombe.
