Dorothy Marie Wester died peacefully of natural causes on March 19, 2020, at MediLodge of Portage, Michigan.
Dorothy was born October 15, 1927, in New Carlisle, Indiana, the daughter of Earl Dokey and Laura (Price) Dokey.
She married Frederick N. Wester on October 12, 1946, in Kalamazoo, MI. She was an avid bowler and stamp collector; particularly duck stamps. She truly enjoyed knitting, crocheting, cross-stitching, reading romance novels and western movies.
Dorothy spent most of her adult life working for American National Bank, which changed to Old Kent, and Fifth Third Bank. She retired in 1990 after a full career in banking.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frederick N. Wester, and her daughter Susan (Jack) Shipe. Dorothy is survived by her sons Gary (Karen) Wester and Mark (Elizabeth) Wester, five grandchildren and six great grandchildren who loved her dearly.
There will be a private memorial service held for her later this year at Mount Ever- Rest Memorial Park, South. In her memory, in lieu of flowers, she would be honored to have donations made to the SPCA of Southwest Michigan. She loved the dogs and cats she shared her home with throughout her life. May she be at peace and in God’s hands eternally.
