Mrs. Dorothy M. Serbyn, age 80, of Milford, beloved wife of the late Stephen Serbyn, died Friday December 25, 2009 at CT Hospice in Branford after a brief, but brave struggle with pancreatic cancer.
Born on October 5, 1929 in Quincy, MA, she was the daughter of the late Salvatore and Mary Klaus Mantia. Dottie was employed by Michaels Jewelers for 20 years before her retirement.
Survivors include her three devoted daughters; Kathy Collins Hough Cameron and her husband Ian of Cardiff, Wales, Mary Baranowsky Collins of Milford and Sandy Collins Smith and her husband Ian of West Hartford; Six cherished grandchildren, Gregory, Nicole, Rebecca, George, Jennifer and Christopher; two great grandchildren, Zachary and Shane; two brothers and a sister, Joseph Mantia of FL, Robert Mantia of MA and Barbara Collins of FL. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother Peter Mantia.
