Dorothy Marie Santorella, age 77, of Danvers, MA passed peacefully, September 29, 2017, at the Kaplan Family Hospice House with family at her side. She was the first-born child of the late John and Ida Cotoni growing up on a farm in Peabody. She was the former wife of Anthony Santorella Sr. of 33 years and together they raised their family in Danvers. Dottie loved to read, travel, ocean views, and roaming the beach to find that unique shell. She attended the Essex Agricultural School in Middleton where she earned a degree, becoming a licensed Beautician. Dorothy worked for several Northshore Salons, where she cut hair, performed manicures, pedicures, and facials. Later in life, she learned sign language and worked for the N.E. Home for the Deaf, but through it all, she was a Homemaker at heart and certainly knew how to prepare a meal. She adored all her grandchildren, who were the loves of her life. She was never happier than when she moved back to Danvers into her very own condominium on Riverside Avenue where she lived for over 10 years. Unfortunately, Dorothy became ill in October of 2016 and spent the remaining months of 2016 in and out of hospitals and rehab facilities until her oldest son Tony and his wife Jane decided to take her into their home and care for her needs, where she had her own in-law apartment with all the amenities.
