Dorothy M. Rowan, age 82, of Rensselaer passed away April 13, 2010 at the Autumn Hills Healthcare, Demotte, Indiana. Dorothy was born August 5, 1927, in Rensselaer, the daughter of Elvin D. and Pearl (Hartley) Pass. She was raised in Rensselaer, graduating with the Rensselaer High School class of 1945.

On September 21, 1947 in Crown Point, IN, Dorothy married Glenn L. “Bud” Rowan who passed away April 9, 2003. Together they owned and operated Bud’s Lunch in Rensselaer for many years. Dorothy was retired from Northway Products and had been a sales clerk at various retail stores in Rensselaer. She was a member of the Mt. Ayr United Methodist Church and the Red Hat Society.

Surviving are two daughters, Terry (John) Bufkin of Rensselaer and Vickie Mykrantz of Columbus, OH, one son, Randy (Kelle) Rowan of Rensselaer, five grandchildren and five great grandchildren, one brother, Larry (Maxine) Pass of Hebron and one sister, Patty (Charles) Cunningham of Rensselaer. Along with her parents and her husband, Dorothy was preceded in death by a brother, Dee Pass.
