Dorothy M. Leach, age 78 of Fairmount, died on Saturday, January 10, 2015 at Morrison Woods in Muncie, Ind.She was born on April 10, 1936 to the late Delbert and Ruth (Holloway) Mitchener in Marion, Ind.Dorothy was a 1955 graduate of Fairmount High School and went on to work at Owens Illinois before her marriage.On December 30, 1956, Dorothy married James R. Leach, who preceded her in death on January 3, 2006.She was a member of Grant United Methodist Church in Fairmount where she was on the Funeral Dinner and Social Committees.She enjoyed helping her husband on the farm until their retirement in 1992.In addition to farm work, Dorothy enjoyed crafts, gardening, canning and spending time with her grandchildren.
Dorothy is survived by two daughters, Cindy Skinner, of Fairmount, and Lynnette (Mike) Taylor, of Elwood; three grandchildren, Nicole (Michael) Johnson, of Batesville, Carly Skinner, of Fairmount, and Will Cline, of Tipton; two great-grandchildren, Jasper and Oliver Johnson; brother Philip Spark Mitchener, of Fairmount; half-brother Mike (Penny) Mitchener, of Gas City; as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Dorothy was preceded in death by her brother, Thomas Mitchener.
