Born, June 21, 1917 in Grand Haven, Michigan to the late Morrison Emmett and Myrtle Blackburn Finch.
She was a Homemaker.
She made her home in Illinois until her marriage, when she moved to Brazil and then to Maryland.
Dorothy enjoyed making a home for her family, was an avid reader and bridge player. She also enjoyed sewing, quilting, golfing and volunteering with Washington County Hospital Auxillary.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, James Frederick Melby in 2002.
