Dorothy Lee (Kemp) Ivy, age 88, and a longtime resident of Semmes, AL, went home to be with the Lord on Aug. 6, 2015. She died peacefully at home with her son and daughter in law, Donald and Debra Ivy, and Pastor Troy Bland by her side. She was born in Desoto, MS, and grew up in Quitman, MS. She and her young family moved to Semmes in 1960. She was a longtime member of Semmes Second Baptist and in recent years at Harmony Baptist. She will be sadly missed. Mrs. Ivy is survived by her son; Donald (Debra) Ivy of Semmes, one sister; Edwina Rogers of Mobile, and six grandchildren; William “Bill” Ivy, Robert “Bobby” Ivy, Michael Ivy, Jeremy Ivy, Jessica (Dewey) Fullmer of Lugoff, SC, Jason Ivy, numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Walter Lamar Ivy, two sons; Kenneth and David Ivy, and three brothers; Roy “Buck”, Jay E. and Earl Kemp.
