Dorothy “Dottie” Lee Molnar, 75, of Elkhart, passed away on Friday, June 11, 2021, surrounded by her family at home.

Dottie was born on January 8, 1946, in Pikeville, KY to Isaac “Homer” Spears and Dixie Layne (Kinney) Spears.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Homer and Dixie Spears; brothers, Harold, Morris, and Garry Spears; and sisters, Edna Wilson, Billie Nixon, and Genevieve Swetcoff.

Dottie is survived by her sister and best friend, Fretta (Mark) Stuart of Elkhart; her beloved children, Sabrina L. Molnar-Marshall (Geo), Farrah B. (Brad) Burkhart, Thaddeus S. (Kim) Molnar of Windsor, and Seth I. (Colleen) Molnar; and her cherished grandchildren, Saige (Dave), Bailey, Maxwell, Tanner, Luciava, Brady, Havana, Alyssa, and Jackson.

Dottie retired as a quality control supervisor with Johnson Controls after 38 years.  She was an active member of First Baptist Church in Elkhart for 45 years, where she attended Bible study and worked in the nursery.  Dottie also collected tickets at sporting events at Memorial High School and enjoyed gardening, antiques, trap shooting and attending the theatre with her friends. Her favorite past time was to cook for and spending time with her family, especially her kids and grandkids. Dottie will be most remembered for her loving, generous and hardworking nature and as a safe haven for her family during the most difficult times.
