Dorothy L. Krohe, 87, a former Beardstown, IL resident, died Thursday, April 9, 2009 at her residence in Jacksonville, IL.
She was born April 28, 1921, in Tescott, KS, the daughter of George and Lena Dupes Wilson. She married Norman G.E. Krohe on Dec. 22, 1946, in Beardstown, and he preceded her in death on Dec. 28, 1992.She is survived by four sons, Edward (Beth) Krohe of Beardstown, Merl (Thelma) Krohe of Havana, Marvin Krohe of Jacksonville and Dennis (Joyce) Krohe of Beardstown; eleven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; one sister, Ellen Werth of Salina, KS; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Norma Jean Krohe Wilkinson; two brothers, George and Ora Wilson; and one sister, Amy Young.
Dorothy worked many years at Capitol Records in Jacksonville, retiring in 1986. She was a member of Salem Lutheran Church and had been active with Jacksonville Area Center for Independent Living (JACIL). She enjoyed craftwork, gardening and canning, and she loved to bake cookies.
