Dorothy was born April 15, 1923 to William and Nellie Jones in Ogden, Utah. She lived in Ogden until the age of 12 when the family moved to California where she attended schools graduating from Maricopa High School in 1942. She attended Business College and did secretarial work in banks, the local water company, and two law firms. She married Charles E. Bailey on May 6, 1943, in Carthage, MO where he was stationed with the US Army. After WWII, they settled in Taft where Charles worked 35 years for P.G. & E. They were privileged to adopt and raise two children. David V. Bailey and Charlene K. Bailey. In the 1960’s Dorothy attended Taft College, and Fresno State College, graduated became a teacher and taught through the 1980’s. Both her children preceded her in death. She is survived by her grandchildren Tammy Bailey and David C. Bailey, and 6 Great-Grandchildren and many other relatives. Dorothy was a member of the order of Eastern Star for more than 50 years and was a Past Matron. She was musician for Women of the Moose for more than 25 years. Teaching school was the love of her life!
