Dorothy Josephine Quest, 99, a resident of Deming, NM peacefully went to be with her Lord, on Friday, July 1, 2022 at the Good Samaritan Society in Las Cruces.
She was born on June 6, 1923, to Dan and Annie Toomey in Woodstock, IL. Dorothy married the love of her life, Pearson Quest, “Bunker” on July 15, 1949. They lived in Polo, IL, for several years. She worked at Kable Printing in Mt. Morris, IL, until she retired and moved to New Mexico. Dorothy always had a fresh pie made for her family and friends who visited her home. “Aunt Dot” was an exceptionally caring person and a loving aunt to her nieces. She had a great sense of humor and nurtured many lasting friendships.
Dorothy is survived by her nieces, Carol Stauffer of The Villages, FL, Brenda Mathews of Taylorville, IL, Eleanor (Tom) Yeager of Dekalb, IL and several other nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, “Bunker,” on May 5, 2009; sister, Mary Andrews, and brother, James Toomey.
