Dorothy Josephine (Fetter) Fischer, 90, of Nineveh (Prince’s Lakes), passed away Sunday, April 3, 2016, at home. She was born April 28, 1925, in Lima, Ohio to Ira D. and Ruth Mae (Harvey) Fetter. Dorothy and Sam were married on November 26, 1958 and they were happily wed, for 57 years.
Dorothy was a homemaker and was very active, in her church. She was a member of Nineveh Christian Church. She helped with church dinners and the prayer chain, she was also a member of the Christian Women’s Fellowship. Dorothy also founded and was the head of the Nineveh Senior Center. She also enjoyed collecting tea pots, gardening, and painting ceramics.
She is survived by her husband Wellmert “Sam” Fischer, of Nineveh, her children: Joseph (Hope) Nutt, Ruth Ann (Jim) Irving, and Timothy Fischer, all of Nineveh, Susan Fischer of Greenwood, Marsha Summers of Sarasota, Florida, Anita Fischer of Nashville, Tennessee, and Thomas (Beth) Fischer of Virginia Beach, Virginia, her eight grandchildren: Jody (Jeff) Nutt McIntosh, Jason Nutt, Jeremy Summers, Ben Merrell, Christina Luettich, Kristina (Joe) Fischer, Lauren Fischer, and Nathan Fischer, her three great grandchildren: Ian (Blake) Roberts, Kelsi Baird, and Elden Todero, and one great-great grandchild Jaxon Roberts
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ira and Ruth Fetter, and two brothers: George and Donald Fetter.
