Dorothy Mae Jones, 76, of Bluford, Ill., since February 2006, formerly of O’Fallon, Ill., for over 50 yrs, born August 29, 1930 in E. St. Louis, Ill., died Sunday, July 15, 2007 at Crossroads Community Hospital, Mt. Vernon, Ill.
Mrs. Jones was a member of the O’Fallon United Church of Christ, the Women’s Guild, serving on various committees, and the 50 Plus Club. She had been employed at Wood Bakery from 1964-1967 and at Thomas Hardware in O’Fallon from 1967-1993.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, George F. & Ruth, nee Black, McGehee, husband, Claude “Gene” Jones, whom she married on August 16, 1947, a son Edward Franklin Jones, and 3 brothers; Leonard J. McGehee, William F. McGehee Sr., and Donald E. McGehee Sr. She is survived by a daughter, Linda (Harold) Schuler of Bluford, Ill., a Son James L. (Connie) Jones of Las Vegas, NV., one sister Georgia L (Willie) Meredith, 3 grandchildren; James D. Jones of Morganton, N.C., Donna E. (fiancée Chad Shreves) Reynolds of Bluford, Ill., Laura E. (Nathaniel) LeCrone of Bluford, Ill., and 3 great grandchildren; Deacon A. Reynolds, Francheska D. Reynolds and Nathaniel W. LeCrone Jr., all of Bluford, Ill., 12 nieces and nephews, a brother-in-law Arthur (Sylvia) Jones of O’Fallon, Ill., and a sister-in Law Shirley McGehee of Murfreesboro, TN.
