Dorothy Jean Johnson Terry, 96, of Kimberling City, MO, passed away on Friday, June 18, 2021 at Covenant Living in Batavia, IL.
Dorothy was born on December r6, 1924 in Polo, IL to Ira and Ida (Bowers) Garber. She received her B.S. Degree from Illinois Wesleyan University in 1947 and her Diploma as a Certified Nurse from the Browkaw Hospital School of Nursing in 1948.
Dorothy Later received her Master’s Degree in nursing from Northern Illinois University. She married H. Dean Johnson on June 20, 1948 in Polo, IL, he passed away on March 12, 1978. She married Jack R. Terry on January 7, 1984, in Ottawa, he passed away on July 26, 2013.
Dorothy spent her entire life working in the nursing field all over the country before finally teaching nursing at Northern Illinois University.
She is survived by four children; Jeff (Barb) Johnson of Yorkville, IL, Randy Johnson of Tucson, AZ, Bruce (Kathy) Johnson of Arlington Heights, IL, and Brian (Linda) Johnson of Chapel Hill, NC; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren; She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, and two sisters Virginia Kilday and Phyllis Good.
