Dorothy Jane (Strong) Cook was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on July 27th, 2017. At 100 ½ years old, Dorothy had lived a full and wonderful life. Dorothy’s main focus in life was her love and devotion to Jesus Christ, her Lord and Savior and her family. Dorothy’s goal was to have every one of her family members be believers in Christ. Dorothy was a pioneer in her own time. Raised as a “city girl” in Wellington, TX, Dorothy had to reinvent herself as a farmer’s wife without the luxuries she had grown accustomed to.

Dorothy was very talented in the Arts. She loved her piano, china and oil painting, and gardening. In her love and growth in these arts, she was a member of the Roswell China Painting Club, Roswell Garden Club and Roswell Iris Society. She also served as a judge in the State of NM to judge Iris shows. She was a holder of many championship ribbons in her Iris and floral presentations.

Dorothy and her family moved to Roswell, NM in 1957. She was a devoted member of Calvary Baptist Church in Roswell where she taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School for many years.
