Dorothy Jane Clanin Elliott, a Colorado native, age 83, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Friday, July 5th, 2019 in the Cherry Creek Retirement Village community. She was born to James, M.D. and Agatha Clanin on April 22nd, 1936 in Limon, Colorado. Dorothy attended Limon Elementary and Jr. High Schools and St. Scholastica Girls Academy in Canyon City, where she sang in the choir. She went on to study X-ray technology and work at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Denver. There she met Daniel Aloysius Elliott, who she married on July 24th, 1956 and spent 57 happy years with, until he passed away on May 24th, 2013. Together they had four children – Gwen Wise, Sue Niblo, Michael Elliott, and Julia Dicker. Dot and Dan liked camping with their kids throughout Colorado and traveled to many places in the U.S. as well as some of Canada. One of Dot’s favorite spots was the Southwest, including towns like Taos and Santa Fe, NM, for its rich history, culture, and art.
