Dorothy Jane Black, 91 of Bridgeport formerly of McLean, VA passed away on Friday, August 3, 2018 at her residence. She was born March 19, 1927 in Buffalo, NY, daughter of the late Arnold Casper and Bertha Streich Moore.

She graduated from David McKenzie High School in Detroit Michigan and earned her Bachelor’s Degree from Wayne State University. “Jane” was an Elementary School Teacher in Glasgow, Scotland, working For the United States Armed Forces.  She enjoyed politics, traveling, playing the piano and baking.  She was a member of the Lewinsville Presbyterian Church and sang in the choir. 

She is survived by four children, Jeffrey I Black and wife Juli, Glendale, CA, Stephen A Black and wife Ingrid, Orlando, FL, Laura B Cava and husband James “Jr.”, Bridgeport, John F Black and wife Maria; seven grandchildren, Jennifer McMullen and husband Bryan, James Cava, Alessandro Cava, Anthony Cava, Kristen Black, Kellar Black, and Roy Black; and one great grandchild, Ophelia McMullen. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her former husband, the late Dr. Yuill Black in 1990; and her brother, Richard Moore in 2017.
