Dorothy died Friday, September 18, 2015, surrounded by her family at Countryside Nursing Home after a brief illness.
Dorothy was born on a farm near Madison on July 18, 1917. She graduated from Battle Creek High School in 1934.
She married Herman A. Hartner on December 31, 1937. They farmed east of Madison for several years until 1949 when they formed M&H Oil Co., which remained a business in Madison, Nebraska until 1994, where Dorothy was the bookkeeper. She was an avid gardener, bowler, golfer, loved fishing and traveling. She enjoyed life to the fullest with her family and friends. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, their Ladies Aid and Altar Guild.
Dorothy is survived by her four children: Norma Cholcher (Don) of Arkansas; Roger Hartner (Tonya) of North Carolina; Dennis (Sue) Hartner of Kearney; and Doug (Shelley) Hartner of Randolph; 14 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband Herman, parents Ernest and Winnie (Kamrath) Huelle; brother Lawrence Huelle and his wife Eunice, daughter-in-law Eneida Hartner and grandson Ryan Hartner.
