Dorothy “Dottie” Helen Allen, 91, Venice, FL, formerly of Midland, MI passed away December 30, 2013. Dottie was born May 7, 1922 in Monroe, MI to Cora (Nimphie) and Ora Sessions.
She was a graduate of Albion College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Home Economics. A member of various women’s groups in Midland, she was a wonderful cook and seamstress. She and Gary were avid sailors and had been snowbirds for 30 years.
Survivors include her beloved husband of 69 years, Garald “Gary” F. Allen; son, John G. (Liz) Allen of Clarkston, MI; daughter, Kathleen S. (Vance) Pomranky of Mokena, IL; six grandchildren: Christopher, Emily, Esther, Luke, Bethany, and Sharon.
