Dorothy Ann Graves Jackson died April 22, 2016. Born in Pittsburgh, PA, she had lived in Jacksonville for more than 30 years. One of the first women to enter the Engineering program at Carnegie Mellon University, Dorothy spent her professional life finding innovative ways to help others, at the Urban League, HUD, for the city of Rockville, MD, for the Northeast Florida Community Action Agency, and, most recently, as a mentor and corporate trainer at Blue Cross Blue Shield. She was an active member of St. John’s Cathedral, where she was a lector, served on the vestry, and taught Sunday school.
Dorothy is survived by her husband, Lowell R. Jackson; her son, Lowell A. (Morgan); her daughter, Christina Hoffeld (Joshua); granddaughter, Lydia Jackson; brother, Alexander Graves; her sister, Anna Graves Sanders; nieces and nephews, and many, many friends.
