Dorothy Francine “Fran” Brandon Phillips, 73, of Clovis, New Mexico departed this life on Wednesday, May 3, 2023 from a recent illness. She was born November 7, 1949 in Pecos, Texas to Stonewall Jackson Brandon and Elizabeth Jane Gaut Brandon. She grew up in Pecos, Texas with her sisters Dana Moore, Janice Clark, and Jayne Williams. They eventually moved to Clovis, NM where she resided until her death.
Fran graduated from Clovis Highschool in 1968. She loved painting for many years and enjoyed art pieces by various artists. While raising children, she pursued her dream of becoming a Nurse. She graduated from Clovis Community College with an Associate of Science in Nursing Degree in 1989. She was Board Certified in Medical Surgical Nursing and spent the majority of her career at Plains Regional Medical Center. She loved her patients and their families through her work and is well remembered for her many years of nursing service. In 2009, she retired from Nursing at the age of 60. Her love of Nursing flowed over to two of her children who also became Nurses. She was a blessed “Meme” to 8 grandchildren. She loved her children and grandchildren who to her were the greatest accomplishments and blessings of her life.
Fran is survived by her beloved dog “Chewy”, her sisters, Dana Moore and Jayne Williams, 2 daughters Angela and husband Bo Pelton of Amarillo, Texas, Leslie and husband Lynn Hopper of Pineville, Missouri, one son, Cody and wife Amber Phillips of Pueblo, Colorado, and 7 grandchildren, Bailey, Destine, Layne, Savanna, Tyler, Nathan, Braeden, and Brooklyn.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Stonewall and Elizabeth Brandon, 1 brother, Walter Brandon, 1 sister, Janice Clark, and 1 grandson Layne Hopper.
Fran was a dedicated member of Saint James Episcopal Church in Clovis, NM.
