Services for 90 year old Dorothy Fitzpatrick of Algona will be 10:30 AM Tuesday at the First United Methodist Church in Algona. Dorothy attended Algona Public Schools, graduating in 1943. On March 24, 1945 Dorothy was united in marriage to Jim Fitzpatrick in Grand Rapids, Minnesota. Dorothy worked in the home and raised three children: Tom Fitzpatrick and Gail Perkins.

She also worked as an EMT for Kossuth County Regional Health Center. Dorothy was a member of First United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, Democratic Party and the Hospital Auxiliary with whom she loved to play 500 with. She was always helping others and always had an open door with a cup of coffee waiting for anyone who walked in. Dorothy had a strong work ethic, self-reliance and confidence.

She was the oldest of 7 children and could handle a rifle or a sewing machine with equal skill. She will be greatly missed. Dorothy is survived by her children, Tom (Carol) Fitzpatrick of Algona and Gail (Kenneth) Perkins of Clermont, FL; five grandchildren; four great grandchildren; two brothers, John (Ardyce) Brethorst of Chokio, MN and Harold “Skip” Brethorst of Brandon, MN; a sister, Nancy (Kenneth) Klucas of Minneapolis, MN and numerous other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim; son, Steven Fitzpatrick and sisters, Shirley Keeler, Maxine “Micky” Walker and Harriet Roycraft.
