Dorothy Fae McLaughlin Banning, 85, Anderson, died January 1, 2004 at Community Northview, Anderson after an extended illness. She was born October 18, 1918 in Portland, Indiana, and resided in Anderson. She was a resident of this area since 1939. She was a public accountant and co-owned an accounting practice with her husband for 35 years. She was a graduate of Winchester High School where she was the valedictorian. She was a 50 year member of the Anderson Lady Lion’s Club, a 50 year member of the Order of the Eastern Star, a member and past president of the Altrinte Extension Homemaker’s Club and was a member of the Indiana Society of Public Accountants. She is survived by her children, Robert E. & wife Robin Banning of Bowie, Maryland, Douglas S. & wife Andrea Banning of Anderson, Max N. & wife Linda Banning of Decatur, Alabama and Richard L. & wife Virginia Banning of Streamwood, Illinois; sisters, Mary Jane & husband Rev. Donald Carpenter of Elkhart and Barbara Jean Updike of Alexandria; ten grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews She was preceded by her husband, Ashael G. Banning in 2002; parents, Harrison & Merle Roush McLaughlin; three brothers, William McLaughlin, Willard McLaughlin and Robert McLaughlin and a granddaughter, Rachel Blom.
