Dorothy F. MacLellan 92, ( known to her friends as “Dottie”) passed away peacefully at her home in Scottsdale on July 13, 2018. She was surrounded by her family and caregivers. Mrs. MacLellan was born to Herman J. Felber and Estelle Felber, on October 24, 1925 in Chicago Illinois. She was married to Kenneth F. MacLellan who passed away in 2016. They were married for nearly 69 years.
Dottie was a fantastic housewife, mother, friend, talented interior decorator and great golfer. She was also an active member of the Junior League in Chicago, Evanston Illinois, St. Paul Minnesota and Paradise Valley Arizona and she and Ken were also a member of Paradise Valley Country Club since 1977. She received a BA degree from Pine Manor in Brookline MA.
Ken and Dottie raised their daughter Susie and son Douglas in Evanston Illinois, North Oaks Minnesota and Lake Forest Illinois. In 1974, Ken and Dottie moved to Scottsdale.
Mrs. MacLellan’s legacy lives on in the hearts and minds of Susie, Douglas, and daughter-in-law Nora and everyone she came into contact with. Her wit, wisdom, expressive smile, her blatant honesty, compassion and integrity that she showed to everyone who met her will never be forgotten. Ken remembered Dottie as a patient and loving wife!
