Dorothy E. Taylor Oliver, 83, Anderson, died November 19, 2005 at Countryside Manor, Anderson after an extended illness.
She was born March 2, 1922 in Henryville, Indiana, and was an Anderson resident since moving here in 1947. She retired from Inland Fisher Guide Division of General Motors in 1984 after 331/2 years as a mechanical inspector in Department 450 in Quality Control.
She was a member of the UAW Local #663 and Killbuck Retiree’s Club. She loved animals. She raised and sold Doberman Pinchers, Miniature Dobermans and Peekapoos for 25 years. She loved working in her garden and fishing.
She is survived by her daughter, Donna and husband Ronnie Shell; a brother, Ralph Taylor; six grandchildren, Donald and wife Susan Myrick, Darren Myrick, David and wife Jennifer Myrick, Kevin Oliver, Larry and wife Jamie Oliver and Dorothy ”Sissy” and husband Mike Collura; eleven great grandchildren, Josh Myrick, Aaron Myrick, Richie Myrick, Roy Myrick, Denise Myrick, Kevin Oliver, Andon Oliver, Taylor Oliver, Morgan Oliver, Gabriell Collura and Regan Collura; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband whom she married in 1942, Roy M. Oliver in 1974; her son, Larry Oliver; a grandson, Lamoine ”Jack” Oliver; her parents, Curtis and Ruth Ann Battey Taylor; a sister and brother-in-law, Fern and Charles Snyder; a sister, Marie; and a brother, Stanley Taylor.
