Dorothy Develski, 83, of Escanaba, passed away Sunday evening April 2, 2017 unexpectedly at home in Escanaba.

Dorothy was born April 25, 1933 in Ironwood, MI the daughter of Frank and Mary (Segelke) Stanczak who were Polish immigrants to Ironwood.  She was raised in Ironwood where she was 1951 graduate of Luther L. Wright High School in Ironwood.

Dorothy was united in marriage to Walter Develski on October 15, 1955 at St. Michael Catholic Church in Ironwood.  They moved to England where Walter was stationed in the U.S. Military and began their family.  They later were stationed in Waco, TX and Rantoul, IL before eventually moving to Escanaba in 1971.

Dorothy did volunteer work for the Escanaba Public Schools for many years.  She was an active member of St.

Dorothy enjoyed her many visits back to Poland to visit family and to England to see her old friends.  Her hobbies included dancing, bowling, playing bingo and shopping.  She was an excellent cook and baker and her family will miss her homemade ravioli.

James Cooper

Everly and Harper Blanke

Baby girl Whitmer due in August

In addition to her parents, her siblings, Leo Stanczak, Frank Stanczak, Frances Ruby, Agnes Kriska and Steve Stanczak preceded Dorothy in death.
