Dorothy "Deedy" King Cousar

Deedy King Cousar died on November 24th at the age of 75. Born February 22, 1938, a third generation Atlantan, she was the daughter of Dot Poulos, Rufus King, Jr. and Brother Richardson. She was predeceased by her parents. Deedy attended Washington Seminary and graduated from The Westminster Schools. She also attended the University of Georgia. She was and active Pink Lady at Piedmont Hospital during the hospital s formative years. She was a member of the Atlanta Junior League, a charter member of the Atlanta Botanical Gardens, a member of the Governor s Council for Mental Health, a former board member of St. Jude s Recovery House, a member of the Atlanta Historical Society, Georgia Historical Society, Friends of Coastal Georgia History, the Coastal Georgia Historical Society, the Sea Island Gardening Group and the Sea Island Club. Deedy is survived by her husband Burt Cousar and her children and grandchildren Debby Bartenfeld Yeomans and her daughter Kady Yeomans, Joan Bartenfeld Pattillo, her husband, Dan Pattillo and their children Rick and Laura Pattillo and Karen Bartenfeld Smith, her husband, Jeff Smith and their children Frank, Louise and Sarah Smith.
