Dorothy C. Strack, 94, of Peru, formerly of Tonica, died early Thursday morning, January 14, 2010, at Illinois Valley Community Hospital in Peru. Dorothy was born July 9, 1915, in rural Streator to Charles and Christina (Dietrich) Seipp.
She married Raymond John Strack on January 8, 1942, at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Leonore. He died on June 11, 1974. She was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, a founding member of St. Anns Sodality and a member of The Tonica Chapter of NOA.
She is survived by one daughter, Christine (Larry) Huffman of Peru; one son-in-law Richard Mertel of rural Oglesby; 3 grandsons, Dirk Mertel of rural Oglesby, Aaron Mertel of Granville, and Brian Mertel of Simpsonville, South Carolina, and 6 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Raymond; one daughter, Carol Mertel, and two sisters.
