Dorothy “Dottie” Porter,81, of Mt. Laurel, NJ, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, November 30, 2021.

She was born on August 8th, 1940 in Riverside, NJ to Charles and Elizabeth Leuallen. Dottie grew up in Beverly, NJ and often talked about all her good times with friends and 7 brothers and sisters. Dottie loved having a good time and never heard a song she couldn’t dance to. She loved spending time in the kitchen creating her own special recipes and never let her neighbors go hungry. Year after year her sacred cookie recipes were devoured by all as she made dozens and dozens of cookie trays. If you couldn’t find her in the kitchen she could be found outside in her garden with her boys or sitting at a slot machine hoping for a big payoff.

Dottie had a decades long career at Bell Atlantic (Ma Bell) starting out as a cord board operator working her way through the ranks and retiring as a clerk in 1995.  She didn’t stay retired for long and went to work at Medford Florist in Medford, NJ.

She is survived by her daughters JoAnn (Harry) Francis, Cammie Porter, and step-daughters Kathleen (Ron) White and Marlene (Dave) Lambert; her grandchildren Melissa Ridgway, Heather (Mario) Confiado, Kirt (Mari) Francis, Matt (Lydia) Brinckloe, Nic (Catherine) Porter, Michelle (Sean) Ridgway and Jamie ( Rob) Cann and her great grandchildren: Shannon, Zorah, Courtney, Elise, Braden, Jordan, Layla, and Thiago. She is also survived by her brothers, Charles (Dot) Leuallen, Robert Leuallen and her sister Diane Czepiel.  She will also be remembered by many loving nieces as well as her friends who became family.

She was predeceased by her husband Virgil “Mickey” Porter, her parents Charles and Elizabeth Leuallen and her siblings: Claire Leuallen, Elizabeth “Betty” Atzert, William “Billy” Leuallen, and Shirley Atzert.
