DOROTHY “PIDGE” LEE BURD, 68, Deming resident passed away Saturday November 14, 2015 at her home surrounded by her family.
Dorothy was born November 4, 1947 in Deming to Dorothy Marie Green and Elmer Lee Rice. She was a Elementary school teacher at Chaparral School. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Dorothy loved animals and spending time with her family and friends.
Survivors include her son, Rick Thaden of Nebraska; daughter, Tina (Marcial) Zamora of Deming; 2 brothers, Wayne (Martha Ann) Cardel of California, Curt Rice of Deming; 3 sisters, Jo Nell (Orvil) Wilson of Roswell, Lucille Wilton of Los Lunas, Barbara Rice-Rodriguez of Deming; 2 grandchildren, Kathleen and Richard Zamora and 1 great-grandchild, Damian Zamora.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Dorothy Rice and great-grandmother.
