Dorothy Joy Bode was born December 11, 1927, in Griswold, Iowa, the daughter of Martin Dean and Hyla Amanda (Vedane) Wooley.
She was raised in Griswold and was a 1945 graduate of the Griswold High School.
On March 14, 1946, Dorothy married William “Bill” Bode at her parent’s home in Griswold.
