Dorothy Bernice Buchholz age 94 of Centralia, passed away Thursday, January 5, 2017 at Centralia Manor surrounded by her family.
Dorothy was born November 25, 1922 in Assumption, IL the daughter of Harry Roberts and Susie (Lynch) Roberts. She married Irvin Buchholz in Piedmont, MO on June 1, 1941 and he preceded her in death on September 23, 1991.
She is survived by one son: Irvin H. Buchholz and wife Judy of Centralia; one daughter: Linda Phee of Centralia; one grandchild: Christina McDaniel and husband Mark of Centralia; one great grandchild: Tylor McDaniel of Centralia; four step great grandchildren: Amanda Orr, Mark McConnaughay, Jessica Ferguson and Ben McConnaughay; one step great-great grandchild: Nathaniel Orr; several nieces and nephews; special family friend: Don Smith of Centralia.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Harry and Susie Roberts; husband: Irvin Buchholz; one sister: Lucille Isaacs.
Dorothy was a member of the D.A.V, a lifetime member of the V.F.W. Auxillary and a member of A.A.R.P. She retired from the Centralia Morning Sentinel in the Circulation Department. She loved playing pinochle. She was very active for many years helping the Golden Age Senior Center. She also loved her four legged companion cat called “Moma Girl”.
